Club supports Food Bank



In continuing support of the FoodBank, a few of us attended the Somerest Patriots game and brought food donations. $5.00 of our $10.00 admission fee was also donated to the Food Bank!
See us above at the game! The Patriots won and there were awesome fireworks after the game ended.
Please continue to support our local food closets, as the shelves continue to be low and there are so many in need.

Congratulations for Club Awards

Congratulations for the clubs 2 awards at the NJSFWC convention, held at Trump Plaza hotel in Atlantic city! We won 2nd place in the State of New Jersey for our overall work in Coservation and Home Life!
Pictured with our awards are Barbara, Nancy & Patti. Over 550 Clubwomen, representing 106 clubs attended the convention.

Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations to the club for celebrating 80 years of community service and 65 years as a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs of GFWC!
Barbara & Nancy cut the cake! We had a lovely celebration at the Denville Township library and our NJSFWC Highlands District DVP installed our new officers for 2012-2014. Nancy, Patty & Barbara are off to our State Convention on Sunday, May 6th at Trump Plaza hotel in Atlantic City! Be sure to come to our Tuesday, day meeting on May 15th, where we will have a program featuring the traditional Chinese dance and music called Shen Yun. The meeting begins at 1pm and the program starts at 2pm. It is free.

Earth Day event a Success!

The Earth Day event at Denville town hall was great today! THere were over 15 organizations showing their wares, including speakers about open space,using solar energy and preserving Greystone. Check out our photo with Mayor Andes, with Kathy & Barbara at our table, where kids could plant marigold seeds! Remember: EARTH DAY EVERY DAY!

Earth Day 'Green Fair' in Denville on Saturday

Earth Day 2012
Stop by our table at the Denville Earth Day Celebration, Saturday, April 21st, 12:00-4:00pm.
Children can plant marigolds and take home some Earth Day puzzles and flyers.

Easter Basket Workshop


Club members gathered at 2 workshops to make almost 50 Easter Baskets for children staying at the Jersey Battered Women's Services and for Denville social services to distribute.

Food Closet collections continue through April

Due to a continuing request for items,we have decide to continue our collection of non food and some food items through April.
Beside paper products, shampoo, deodorant, laundry and dish detergent, we are also collecting peanut butter, jelly, beans, canned friut, cereal, coffee, tea, dry milk and tuna fish.

Drop off sites are:
Boonton: Union Center National bank
Denville: Provident bank, Investors bank, Restyle & Renew
Rockaway: PNC bank & Sovereign bank
The Denville Township library & Mountain Lakes library are collecting non food items only.

A huge Thank you to all these businesses, who have been supporting our collections and causes for many years. Due to their suppport, we have been able to collect a variety of items to help those who need help in our community.
